Cruzeiro Seixas is considered the biggest name in Portuguese surrealism. Seixas is a painter, sculptor, illustrator and poet. He studied at the Art Vocational School Antonio Arroyo and after a short-expressionist neo-realist period, it is definitely linked to surrealism. Integrated in 1949-50, the group "The Surrealists" with Mario Cesariny, Carlos Calvé, António Maria Lisboa and Mário Henrique Leiria, among others. An important part of his personal collection, is at Cupertino de Miranda Foundation in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal.
