An oil of this painter was sold for € 5,000 in an auction in Lisbon.

Augusto Ferreira Barros was born in Lisbon on 7 August 1929.

In the 50s, completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lisbon and held his first solo exhibition at Palácio Foz (Old SNI).

Soon realized that pursuing a career in the arts in Portugal was not feasible and that he had to look for new horizons.

Augusto Barros becomes one more paradigmatic example of the great Portuguese artists who never got to see his work recognized and valued in life, in his own country.
